It is an explosion-proof valve built with a flameproof enclosure: rather than keeping sparks from forming at all, the housing is engineered to contain an internal ignition and stop it from reaching the surrounding atmosphere through any seam or opening.

Strong physical protection for Zone 1 and Zone 2 areas, a wide −40°C to +60°C operating range, and — unlike a fully encapsulated valve — the option to repair it in the field as long as the flameproof joints are serviced to spec.

The company has focused on pulse-valve R&D since 1992. Every valve goes through life-cycle pulse testing, and the line carries multiple patents plus Ex, CE and ISO certification, targeting precise response and zero leakage after tens of millions of cycles.

In the closed state, compressed air bleeding through a throttle hole into the rear chamber presses the diaphragm shut. When the remote system vents that rear chamber, front-chamber pressure lifts the diaphragm and blasts air into the filter bag.

Watson Process Systems began as a 1983 joint venture with Germany’s GVD and took over GVD’s interests in 1986, expanding its pulse-jet valve technology; Xiechang® now serves as Watson®’s Asia-Pacific general agent, supplying the original Watson® line throughout the region.

Xiechang®’s standard pulse valves are the everyday workhorse for dust collection, while the Watson® line is positioned as the premium option for harsher duty, using diaphragm materials rated for continuous use up to 180°C and a reinforced body for high-cycle, high-pressure service.

On slip-on submerged models, the blowpipe surface should be smooth with the O-ring properly seated for a leak-free fit; threaded right-angle and nut models need a high-quality thread sealant; and the diaphragm should be inspected regularly regardless of model.
